As a prelude to the June 9, 2008 Work Life Legacy Award dinner "An Immersion into the Future" Drawing from the Institute for the Future’s latest Ten-Year Forecast and his new book, Bob Johansen guided participants into future worlds. This four-hour session provided many interactive experiences. This was a rare opportunity to have a unique “immersion learning experience” with one of the country’s foremost “future” thinkers. Participants were encouraged to bring Gen Y employees who will add their personal and generational perspectives to the discussion. Gift copies of Bob Johansen’s book, Get There Early: Sensing the Future to Compete in the Present; Deloitte’s Stan Smith’s book, Decoding Generational Differences: How Can We Get Back to Work; Maggie Jackson's book, Distracted: The Erosion of Attention and the Coming Dark Age; and Families and Work Institute’s 2008 National Study of Employers were distributed to all Immersion Learning Experience participants. Sponsor of the Immersion Learning Experience “Afternoon Tea” A Private Cocktail Reception with the 2008 Work Life Legacy Award Honorees Exclusively for Immersion Learning Experience Participants and Work Life Legacy Award Sponsors was held prior to the Award Dinner
